Level  & Age Requirements

Mini-Mites: Born on or after 6/1/16
Mites: 6/1/14 to 5/31/16
Squirts: 6/1/12 to 5/31/14
Girls 10U: 6/1/12 to 5/31/14
Pee Wee: 6/1/10 to 5/31/12
Girls 12U: 6/1/10 to 5/31/12
Bantam: 6/1/08 to 5/31/10
Girls High School: Grades 8 through 12 (depending on DOB)
Boys High School: Grades 10 through 12

2023-2024 Registration Fees

July 15th- September 22nd
Mini-Mites: $35
Mites: $85
Squirts & Girls 10U: $250
Pee Wee & Girls 12U: $275
Bantam: $300
Girls & Boys Varsity $300 + District 518 Fee

**Late Fee of $50 will be added to each player (Squirt/10U through Varsity) registered after September 22nd, 2023**

Mini Mites through Bantams will also pay a USA Hockey Fee per player based on their birth year.

USA Hockey Requirement

Each player, Mini-Mite through Bantam, must register first with USA Hockey and then return to the Registration Session to sign up for the WHA 2023-2024 Season. If you have a High School player you DO NOT need to complete this step in the registration process! 

  • CLICK HERE to go to USA Hockey Registration and register your player(s). Be sure to SAVE their confirmation code(s). Remember to register EACH of your players with USA Hockey.  Each player must have their own unique USA Hockey confirmation number.
  • NOTE: When registering for USA Hockey, be sure to type your child's name as it appears on their birth certificate. For example, "Jennifer" instead of their nickname "Jenn". 
  • You will be required to pay a fee based on birth year to USA Hockey & MN Hockey in order to play with WHA. This is required by USA Hockey & MN Hockey since we are affiliated with them.

USA Hockey Fees by Birth Year:

2017 & Younger- $15

2016-2015- $50

2014-2011- $61

2010-2005- $70

All ages- MN Hockey Fee $10

Birth Certificate

A copy of your child's Certified Birth Certificate is required at the time of registration for all FIRST YEAR skaters. You may mail it to: Missy Gazca at 116 Cynthia Ave. Worthington, MN 56187, OR bring it to Kick-Off Night on September 6th, 2023.

Equipment

Player equipment is available free of charge to all first year players. All returning players can rent equipment for $25 for the whole season!  Player equipment normally includes helmet, jersey, breezers, shoulder pads, knee pads, elbow pads, hockey gloves and skates. Personal items such as; a mouth guard, neck guard and athletic supporter are the responsibility of the player. You will also need to provide your own hockey stick.

Deposit Check

Each family is required to give a $700 deposit check at the time of registration, dated 03/31/24 and made payable to WHA. This check will be held by the association and not cashed, as long as, volunteer hours and fundraising obligations are met by April 1st, 2024. You may mail your check to Missy Gazca at 116 Cynthia Ave. Worthington, MN 56187, OR bring it to Kick-Off Night on September 6th, 2023.

Volunteer Hours

  • The Worthington Hockey Association relies on its members to provide volunteer services in various areas of our organization. These volunteer hours are necessary in an effort to keep registration costs and operating expenses down.
  • Each family is required to volunteer a total of 35 hours, 3 of these total hours must be worked in the concession stand. (You will be charged for any concession stand hours not worked even if you fulfill the 35-hour total elsewhere). We ask you help out when you can, as 35 hours can be 50 depending on your level of commitment.  These hours must be completed by April 1st, 2024 to ensure your deposit check is not cashed.
  • "Buy Out" options are available until October 31st, 2023 in the amount of $700 if you chose to opt out for volunteering. 
  • All volunteer hours are recorded through our Dibs page.

Fundraising

All youth, Mini Mite to Varsity Level, and parents in the WHA are required to participate in our fundraising activities. The participation of all members of the association is vital in order to ensure adequate funding for the hockey program and facilities. Mandatory fundraisers include:

  • Calendar sales: $25 each, sold end of October-early November
  • Raffle ticket sales: $10 each, sold in February 

Each family will pay for a determined number of calendars and raffle tickets up front and will then will be self-reimbursed if they choose to sell the calendars and tickets to family, friends, coworkers, etc. Quantities determined based on registration numbers.
